Meet Myra Perez!
Before I begin, I want to thank you so much for visiting my page and believing in my cause and journey. For as long as I can remember it has been my dream to help others and to make a difference in the world. This idea of wanting to help people for a living grew as the years passed. Before I graduated high school, I spoke with a counselor about my future and I can vividly recall telling him, “I want to work in a field where I will make a difference in people’s lives.” He then suggested that I attend medical school to become a doctor. This career path seemed perfectly suited to my desires and thus, I began my higher education at California State University, Monterey Bay. I graduated from CSUMB in 2011 and my next step was to get into medical school. Before this goal was achieved however, I got engaged and just like any many other women, I wanted to be a “skinny bride.”
When I became engaged, I weighed 175 pounds and was at 38% body fat. In six months i lost 37 pounds. On my wedding day, i weighed 138 pounds and had 27% body fat. Yes, I was a “skinny bride”, but I was still unhappy. I recall telling my husband that I wanted to get fit and toned, and in November of 2012, I began my fitness journey. Once I started gaining lean muscle, lowering my body fat, and living a healthier lifestyle, I felt a complete change in my life. My confidence soared, and when I looked in the mirror I felt an overwhelming sense of acceptance and love for myself. I made a choice, set a goal, and achieved it. After experiencing the joy and strength I felt from living a healthier life style, it became my goal to help women around the globe who strive for the same goals.
“Change Of Career”
After my transformation, I had a change of heart, and left all my years of schooling behind to become a personal trainer. I became a trainer in 2013 and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. While I do not have a title of a physician, I am happy to be on the other side of the desk building close relationships with my clients. I am changing my clients’ lives and helping them discover the “it” factor. The “it” that improves their personal relationships, the “it” that lets them love what they see in the mirror, the “it” that helps them become physically strong and healthy enough to play with and watch their children grow, and that “it” that makes them realize they are and have always been beautiful and powerful!
“A Healthier Lifestyle”
The decision to not pursue medical school to become a trainer was scary because I did not want to disappoint my family or myself. However, if I would have known that I was going to change the quality and longevity of so many woman’s lives, I would have taken this step sooner! My company and my mission revolve around women. I believe that women living in today’s patriarchal society must support one another as much as possible. I feel the relationships I build with my clients are so strong because we gain an understanding of each other as females. The journey to a healthier lifestyle is never an instantaneous one. I tell each and every one of my clients to think back on the number of years it took them to get to the point in their lives where they felt a change was needed. You did not come to where you are now overnight, so it is impossible to expect a change overnight. I want you all to remember that no idea, dream, or goal is ever too far fetched. You just need to have that hunger in your hearts day in and day out to find your greatness. With this mentality, your personal change will arrive sooner than you could ever imagine.
